I just wrote this message on another post but I think its worth calling out. When it comes to getting treatment for Hypothyroid and Adrenal Fatigue it can be very frustrating to talk with doctor who says: “Its all in your head, you don’t have a problem,” or “You are depressed, overweight and tired, but its not your thyroid.”
Does this mean the doctor is right, just because they are a doctor? Not necessarily! As was the case for me and many others. Doctors have a “point of view” like everyone and there are many different schools of thought. Just like the difference between Republicans and Democrats, with medicine the perspective varies greatly. So we have to ask which school of thought we want to follow?
Of the six doctors I visited, only one had a perspective that worked for me. While the other doctors felt strongly about their perspective, and I respect their ideas, it wasn’t what I wanted for myself. It’s not about right or wrong, its about what made sense to me. So find and follow a point of view that works for you! And understand, respectfully of course, that not all perspectives are the right ones for us.
