Proper Treatment for Hypothyroidism Looks Like This…

front-squatsplit-jerkJust wanted to share some recent photos for inspiration. This is me at my gym, Crossfit. This is what life is like with good thyroid treatment — weight loss, energy, the ability to exercise, and so much more. I am not saying its easy – it does take effort — but the good kind of effort! Before treatment, this kind of exercise was impossible. It would have caused weight gain, adrenal crashes and sickness.

So keep looking for answers, and find a good doctor. Join my Facebook group to see or add to the growing list of good doctors. https://www.facebook.com/pages/MissLizzy/118872191516535

Hey, Lizzy! Thank you. That´s just what I needed today. I´m half the way.. I´m on treatment already but due to excercising as a healthy person my hormone intake were not enough and I crashed after three months. Now I´m testing the right doses to have a healthy and active life like the one I want for myself..But sometimes the frustration gets me. I work out 5 times a week and if you look at me it seems like I spend most of my days laying in the couch and eating french fries..So your picture gives me a kick to stay calm and keep trying until I get there too.Thank you for sharing!xxx,Alejandra

Hi Anne Marie, I would suggest reading The Iodine Crisis by Lynne Farrow. Her book is a great starting point for questions about Iodine…

Another great resource is the Iodine Supplementation Forum on Curezone. They are very knowledgable and many folks have contributed personal experiences…

    Big hugs to you!Lizzy

    Dear Miss Lizzy:

My name is Luis Castaño and I send you this comment from Spain. First at all, thank you so much for your blog, so inspiring, empowering and full of info. Thanks a lot.

Now, the raison I wrote you: In October 2006 my health broke. My symptoms were this:

Phisycal symptoms: Tired, sleeping all the time (even 20 hours), cold (low temperature).
Mental symptoms: Brain fog, low reactions, lose memory.

Today, in 2015, after 8 years of doctors and lots of diagnosis, they say I have Hashimoto problems. Well, ok. But in the analysis appears also problems of low cortisol and others. Here in Spain doctors goes just on TSH analytics and T4 traitement. I feel a little better but after some months I can’t still make normal life.

So I search on the web, I find your blog and others, I’m reading now the book Stop the Thyroid Madness and I’m thinking (after my next review end January)taking another way.

Do you think Dr. Brummer could help receive me and help me to solve the problem? Or maybe do you know another good doctor in Spain? (I know this last is very difficult).

Thanks again for your time and kind attention.

    Luis.

Its exciting to hear about your recovery and depressing at the same time. I am using all the natural alternatives, food, yoga, herbs, vitamins, no stress, meditation. But its not working, and I can’t find a medical doctor for any support. Just today I got turned away again, the doctor told me there is no evidence that adrenal support is a real thing. She refused to do any blood work for me, telling me my low blood pressure was a sign of great health, but gave me a prescription for my severe insomnia. I have been dealing with the terribly debilitating symptoms for for 20 years. Been trying recovering on my own for a couple of years now. Thank you for your website, and its good to know you found a doctor!

What is the benefit of using iodine?

According to healthyonline.com, the thyroid (located at the frontal base of the neck) is the key gland that furnishes energy to every cell in the body. Its function is dependent on a balance of nutrients and trace minerals. These include zinc, copper, manganese and especially iodine.

Iodine is an essential nutrient needed for the production of the body's thyroid hormones and is therefore required for normal thyroid function. Thyroid hormones are responsible for our basal metabolic rate (BMR), which reflects the body's use of energy. In addition, they are beneficial for:

    • Normal growth and development
    • Protein synthesis
    • Cholesterol synthesis
    • Carbohydrate absorption
    • Energy metabolism
    • Nerve and bone formation
    • Reproduction
    • The condition of the skin, hair, nails and teeth
    • Speech and mental state
    • Cold hands and feet
